Enhancements to Interoperability Standards for Check Image File FormatsThe CheckImage Collaborative announces an enhanced Universal Companion Document (UCD) which establishes a uniform industry approach for populating and validating check image files. Paper checks continue to transition to electronic images at an extraordinary rate with almost 70% of all institutions now receiving images. With statistics now available for three and one half years, the CheckImage Collaborative will now report the Industry statistics on a quarterly basis in order to show a more complete historical trend. As you review the data for June 2008, you may notice that the most current volumes for June are slightly less than previously reported for March. This was due to some volumes being inadvertently double counted. The reporting process has since been refined and the latest charts reflect the corrected volumes. Industry Statistics — October 2009
